Firm Manager: The Perfect Case Management Service for Small Firms and Solos??
May 10, 2011 - “As a general practitioner, who thoroughly enjoys technology and the use of it in the law office, I have been demoing multiple case management software for the perfect fit.
After countless hours of data entry and clicking, I have yet to find it. Rocket Matter and Clio are very effective, but almost too simple and user friendly. Time Matters is great for the large firm, but way too complicated and looks ancient. The others such as Amicus, Abacus, ProLaw, and Needles also look like something from the first Windows version. I haven’t been able to try Houdini ESQ because there software isn’t available for download due to an upgrade, so I can’t really comment on that yet. The one I have been most impressed with is Firm Manager. I hope that the days remaining in the trial period will be promising and that I will see another major upgrade or something so that I will have faith in the decision to spend hours setting up the large amount of matters and contacts I have.”

LexisNexis Firm Manager: Read Our Exclusive Report
February 23, 2011 A Trusted Name Enters the Web Practice Management Game
Over the past few years, startup companies offering Web-based (SaaS, cloud-based) practice management systems have faced competition only from one another. But given the large number of solos and small law firms that don’t use any practice management system, this situation could not last. Sooner or later, the incumbents would take note and enter the market with their own offering. One such company took the time to work with hundreds of lawyers to develop a Web-based practice management system, which seems to have paid off judging from the praise at its recent unveiling.

Firm Manager by LexisNexis
January 31, 2011 - “LexisNexis will announce tomorrow the release of a new product called “Firm Manager.” I’ve seen the beta version of the product (and am on its Advisory Board). It looks like it will be a leading contender in the practice management arena. Lexis has put a lot of effort, and that means money, to help the small firm (1-9) think electronically as lawyers think in their real world. One of the exciting elements of this product is that the company will listen not only to its Advisory Board, but also to the lawyers who use the product, both in the soon to be expanded beta test and afterward. “
